Edith Carrothers

	Edith Carrothers, 88, of Cutler, passed away at 11:58 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2000 at Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Mrs. Carrothers was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Cutler.  She had worked for International Shoe Company in Steeleville.
	She was born january 3, 1912 at Cutler, the daughter of Joseph  and Margaret (Mowbray) Hardy.  She married Gilbert Carrothers on September 2, 1933 at Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1991.
	Surviving are one daughter, Norma Lea (Husband Don) Helvey of Cutler; one son, Melvin H. (Wife Jackie) Carrothers of Cutler; three grandchildren, Gilbert and Tammy Helvey of Pinckneyville, Kevin and Jennifer Carrothers of Pinckneyville and Sherrill and Bill Deere of Chester; seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
	Funeral services were Tuesday, October 24 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Cutler with Rev. Kevin Carrothers and Rev. Larry Revellle officiating.  Interment was in Cutler Cemetery.
	Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Percy, thence to the church.
	Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Cutler or the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
